Winter Hike Series: Boulder in the Tree, Brown County State Park

2 miles, very rugged, 2 hours

The Boulder in the Tree phenomenon is something we’ve seen in several places around Brown County including in the state park and in Yellowwood State Forest. This is your chance to get out and see one of these boulders stuck in in a tree. The question is, how did it get there? Come see it for yourself and make your most educated guess! This hike will be mostly off trail so please dress for the weather and know there may be a couple creek crossings depending on how high the water is. Boots are essential.
