Today I’m answering one of the most common questions I get. Where should we stay in Nashville, Indiana?
And truly, there’s no one right answer for everyone. The “best” place to stay isn’t just about the cleanliness or number of bathrooms (though anyone who’s traveled with a group knows how important those items are). But the best place to stay is also about your group dynamics, how much space you need, how you travel… what will make this trip one your group raves about for years to come?
Here are a few travel preferences and Brown County lodging options you might love…
Your trip: a romantic couples getaway or girls weekend
Your preferences: Would prioritize walkable & right in the heart of Nashville over quiet surroundings
You’d rather see more people than trees.
>>>Sounds like you’d enjoy a hotel or Airbnb right in Nashville. Nashville is the town at the center of Brown County and home to nearly every restaurant and shop in the area. If you enjoy being right in the action, there are several hotels and lodging options right in Nashville. You might enjoy Iris Garden Cottages or Cornerstone Inn. You’ll likely have less land/privacy, but you’ll gain the ability to have a walkable stay.
Your trip: a group getaway with kids (multi-generational families, friend groups, etc)
Your preferences: A peaceful home that will fit the whole group, that grandma can access (but that also keeps the kids entertained), a fully-furnished kitchen because we’ll cook meals together, several bathrooms
You’d rather see more trees than people.
>>>>Sounds like you’d enjoy a vacation cabin! Brown County has many, and I’d suggest Blessings Farmhouse. It’s a newly restored home that was designed & furnished to fit your whole group (5 bedrooms, 3.5 baths), and it’s the ultimate family retreat. You’ll find spaces designed to encourage connection from the fire pit and outdoor play area to the sun room with games and puzzles to the indoor sensory playground.
Can I be real for a moment? This isn’t just a travel blog or a side gig for me. I’ve stayed in rental homes (near and far) that just weren’t a great fit for our family with kids, and it made travel so stressful for me. When we had the opportunity to purchase an old Brown County farmhouse and restore it, I knew exactly what this passion project would be – to create a home where the whole family, from littles to grandma, can truly experience relaxation, connection and fun together. That’s not marketing – it’s genuine care for the little details that will help your family create treasured memories together.
And whether you find that experience at Blessings Farmhouse or a somewhere else, I really do hope you carve out time to intentionally get into nature and connect with the people who matter most.
Hey, if we haven’t met before – I’m Kara and I’ve lived in Brown County my whole life. I love sharing about the area with others, and explaining why Brown County is such a perfect midwest getaway.
