“12th Kp Events” is excited to present the 3nd Annual Normandy Tactical Battle using mission orders and chain of command to give participants an experience unlike most all events in this genre. The event will focus on events after the actual invasion but prior to entering Belgium in 1944.
The Staff has continued to plan for mission events that you will execute during the Operational timeline. We are looking at a new area of the base to utilize this year. We also plan for barracks both Friday and Saturday. There are also plans for a USO gathering Saturday evening to share camaraderie.
For those individuals that are wanting to put together a specific unit impression for the event, you need to contact the event staff for approval prior to 1 July 2025, minimum of 5 personnel is required for this option. Rear area impressions are also welcome to attend and support the event. We also want all vehicle owners to know that compensation for Armored vehicles over 4 tons is provided once the Army and event cost are satisfied and surplus is met.
We invite ALL units to attend. If you belong to a unit that was not part of the Normandy Campaign, please contact us for recommendations on how you and your unit can participate. This large National Event will be one you don’t want to miss.

Come to the Nature Center for an up close and personal look Indiana’s most venomous and most misunderstood snake! Learn about the history of timber rattlesnakes, including how this animal became an American symbol in the late 1700s on the Gadsden Flag. Learn how over a million visitors a year safely share the state park with these animals. We’ll also discuss venom, how it works and is delievered, and how Indiana’s venomous snakes compare to the rest of the world! At the end, we will feed the timber rattlesnake a live mouse. Please be aware this program involves live animals. A live snake feeding may not be suitable for all guests, particuarly children. Guests will have an opportunity to leave the program before the feeding, if they choose to do so.

Come on out to the Cabin for an afternoon of music with Shelby County Sinners, featuring band members Shelby Kelley, Morrison Foster, and Eric Grimmitt, with Brown County bluegrass favorites The Hammer and The Hatchet. Self-guided farm tours start at 1:30pm. Music starts at 2:30pm.

The Go BikeIN Mountain Bike Workshop is your introduction into the world of mountain biking. This workshop not only gives you a chance to hit the trail on one of our 13 demonstration bikes, it also provides skills lessons from our trained mountain bike instructors. After spending time learning these valuable skills and getting comfortable on the bike, our instructors will then lead you on a ride along one of Brown County State Park’s renowned mountain bike trails. This will be a 3 hour workshop that gives you and your family a great start to being a mountain biker.

Please be aware this is a beginner level class, prioritizing those who do not own mountain bikes. Bikes are not available for rental. A $20 per person donation is suggsted, but not required, for class participants.

Meet in the Nature Center parking lot.

Children: This frame size is 13′ -14″ for those between 4’10” – 5’2″ in height. There are four available, two for girls and two for boys.

Adult Small: This frame size is 15″ – 16″ for those 5’2″ – 5’6″ in height. There are three available.

Adult Medium: This 17″ – 18″ frame size is for those 5’6″ – 5’10” in height. There are three available.

Adult Large: This 19″ – 20″ frame is for those 5’10” – 6’1″ in height. There are two available.

Goshen Church will be having its annual Holiday Bazaar, bean dinner, bake sale and quilt raffle on Saturday, Nov. 8 from 10 a.m.- 3p.m. Goshen was established in 1874 and is one of the oldest still-active churches in the county.

The bake sale will include cookies, pies and breads. The bazaar has many hand-crafted items. The bean dinner includes a bowl of soup, corn muffins, slaw and choice of dessert and beverage for a $5 donation. If you don’t like bean soup, other varieties of soup will be available. This year’s raffle quilt, “Block Star” is queen-sized. Tickets are $1 each or you may purchase six tickets for $5. Drawing for the quilt will be at 3 p.m. and you don’t have to be present to win.
